Daycare

With over 2,500 square feet of indoor play space daycare at the Arlington Dog House has been designed with a pups safety, enjoyment and socialization in mind. Our play areas are equipped with sanitary, high-density rubber floors where dogs are grouped based on their size, play style and temperament. Your dog is provided constant supervision by our professionally trained and certified handlers with the lowest dog-to-handler ratios in the area, and all the exercise and affection they could want. Flexible Daycare options include drop-in days as well as packages for both Half and Full Days of daycare.

Daycare requirements:
Our daycare is open to any pup of any breed who is older than 4 months of age. Every pup who participates in our daycare must first pass a temperament test (we use the SAFERTM methodology) and will spend the remainder of the day with us, at no cost to their parents, so we can see how they play, socialize and determine the best fit for them at this time in our daycare.  This day of daycare is part of our evaluation process and most pups thrive in it and come back again and again for daycare after it.  We also require proof of current Rabies and Distemper immunizations as well as evidence of year-round heartworm and flea/tick programs for your pup.  If your pup is older than 6 months they must also be spayed or neutered to join the fun.

If it's your first time to the Arlington Dog House click here to download our forms and a handy check-list so you and your pup are ready!  Don't forget to either call or email us to schedule your pup's temperament test and free first day of daycare!

Boarding

Boarding at the Arlington Dog House is a one-of-a-kind experience for your dog. Pups staying with us spend the day in daycare and are then treated to extended daycare after hours and cage-free group sleep-overs that are staffed by the same handlers they've spent the day with. Our building is never unmanned when we have dogs on site. In fact, our sleepover room even has a Murphy Bed where pups and staff together snooze the night away. There's never a charge for administering medications, even intravenous, when your pup boards with us. All you need to bring is your pup, their food, and any special bedding or medication they require during their stay.  We can't guarantee your pup's bedding won't be shared or played with another pup while there here so please don't send them with anything of sentimental value.

Boarding requirements;
Boarding at the Arlington Dog House is an extension of our cage-free environment and philosophy and all pups staying with us must pass the same temperament test and experience a free day of daycare, just like those in daycare, so we can see how they play and co-exist with the other dogs.  Pups boarding with us are required to have current Rabies and Distemper immunizations, be on year-round heartworm and flea/tick programs and, if they're older than six months, must also be spayed or neutered.

If its your first time to the Arlington Dog House click here to download our forms and a handy check-list so you and your pup are ready!  Don't forget to either call or email us to schedule your pup's temperament test and free first day of daycare well in advance of your boarding needs.  This gives you the peace of mind you need and your pup, most importantly, a positive experience before you travel!

Nose Work Training

Are you (or your dog) dreading exercising in the snow and ice? Try Nosework! Modeled on the detection work of police & military dogs, nosework teaches dogs to search for legal odors in a variety of real-world environments. Your dog will learn to search building interiors, the great outdoors, vehicles, and containers, locating the source of the odor and alerting you to it. This sport provides unique and fun opportunities for dogs (and owners!) of all ages, skill levels, and temperaments:

- For nervous or shy dogs, nosework provides an excellent way to build confidence, independence, and focus in environments that might otherwise be overwhelming
- For excited or energetic dogs, nosework provides an unparalleled mental workout that exhausts your dog far more thoroughly and quickly than physical activity
- Puppies enjoy its fast pace and exposure to new environments, and older dogs like the chance to play without having to exercise on old, achey joints
- Simple to learn if you are a first-time dog owner, and a fun new challenge for experienced handlers
Regardless of your dog's temperament or skills, nosework provides you and your pet the chance to play in a unique dog-directed sport, and whether you decide to compete towards advanced titles or just do it for fun, it's rewarding for every type of dog and owner! Join this fast-growing sport and see the truly incredible skills your dog has been hiding right under their nose!
